It’s time I let you in on a little skincare secret that gets my wind and cold ravaged skin through the winter months. I have been keeping this one to myself for a while, almost believing it was too good to be true, but after a few months of testing I am ready to recommend…
The product itself is quite widely known, so if I am already preaching to the converted, apologies! For those that haven’t already tried Trilogy’s Rosehip Antioxidant Oil then (PLEASE!) read on, because this might be just the little boost your skincare routine is lacking! Background
Like many of my natural affiliations with certain scents or brands I have my mother to thank. This also goes for my obsession with Rose. From an early age I remember her vanity always having some variation of rose cosmetic; Neals Yard Rose facial oil was one product I particularly remember. My mother, always being a natural skincare advocate, has amazing skin and always looked less than her years. Even at 52 her skin is still a beautiful even colour and texture. I was always a bit more dubious when it comes to natural skincare. I am STILL yet to be won over by Lush Cosmetics. But hey, if it’s natural and it works, I’m down.
Fast forward 15 or so years and I too have taken up the rose oil mantle but as I have grown so have the scientific advances in beauty and today I count Trilogy’s Rosehip Antioxidant oil as my favourite rose beauty product. Trilogy’s oil comes in two forms, I prefer the suped up antioxidant version that contains their own patented mixture ‘Rosepene’ which along with the pure Rosehip oil creates a powerful elixir for skin.
It comes in this little tincture brown glass Trilogy bottle with dropper. This mechanism is perfect because the formula is potent and you only need a few drops.
Unlike most oils I have used before, the Rosehip antioxidant oil could be called a serum because it is so lightweight. It combines nourishing essential fatty acids with super antioxidants from the extra ingredients, this certified organic beauty oil is deeply moisturising for my skin and helps to protect against environmental free radical damage.
I have very sensitive skin that reacts really well to this product. I know some of you may be skeptical about using an oil on your face, especially if you are in your 20’s but consider my method. I use my go-to night serum (currently Estee Lauder Advanced night repair) and once dispensed onto my hand I drop 3 droplets of the Trilogy oil into the serum and mix together to make a replenishing and softening overnight facial for myself.
The results are truly satisfying. My face is plumped and baby soft, it gives the serum and extra boost to help repair winter-abused skin. There is also no oil or residue upon wakening the next morning. I don’t use it every night as I don’t want to overwhelm my skin, but a few times a week I supplement my usual serum with it and this works wonders for me.
If you are thinking there may be someone in your family who would benefit from this then you might want to take a little peek at Trilogy’s really cute selection of Christmas gifts. I went a little crazy for the printed tin baubles with 4 Trilogy miniatures inside which come as a GWP for every 2 products you buy (from the original Trilogy site only)! Imagine that beauty on the Christmas tree. You can also buy the Rosehip Antioxidant oil in a pretty gift box here.
Price: 20ml £14.95 or 30ml £26.50
