Summer of 2014 saw the heavy-footed masculine Birkenstock smash its way onto the scene. A year later I’m pretty much allergic to a dainty and feminine looking sandal.
This summer I am channeling the man-dal trend: clunky, chunky, geeky but oh so comfy.
Our men-friends are not fans of the man-dal trend, oh no sir! But when the Man-dal balances out a feminine summer look so well it would be rude to ignore the plethora of geek/chic sandal offerings this season.
Coming up trumps is Clarks with their Celine inspired Zena Mae Sandal; chunky and boyish with a moulded foot bed, these sandals work well with a paired down masculine silhouette or flippy summer dresses.
The quality is a beauty – as with all Clarks craftsmanship. I’ve walked a few miles in these and they are super comfy, especially when running around the city!
I’ve paired my silver Zena Mae’s with a low key look for a summer weekend BBQ at home with the family. My favourite pair of skinny’s are these dark navy O Cropped style from Monki and my Tunic style top with roomy front pockets and deep V neck is from ASOS.
