Thanks to the ridiculously slow post this time of year I saw Beauty Pie plastered all over my fellow bloggers’ Instagrams well before a box of my own (that got temporarily side-lined at the sorting office) landed in my lap. Boy, was I excited when I finally got the box of samples through, 5 full-size products that look luxe, minimal and enticing as a £200 Bobbi Brown line up. The only catch? This box of makeup would cost you less that £20.
What is it
This new concept of cost-price beauty buying is available to you the consumer when you purchase a £10 a month subscription to beauty pie. This unlocks the shopping site giving you access to all the products at cost price cutting out the ridiculous mark ups normally paid to the middleman. It makes you wonder why on earth you are paying £25 for a Chanel lipstick when you can get an uber creamy, colour-rich lipstick costing £2.50 which looks as good in the bullet as it does on the lips.
Marica Kilgmore, founder of Soap and Glory and new bath and bodyline Soaper Douper is spearheading the mission. It’s certainly unique. Will it be a success?

If you are a beauty-buying addict then this is well worth a trial. The products are divine, like actually divine. I know Beauty Pie impressed me from the first use because I couldn’t stop talking to people about it. If you were always into the idea of a beauty subscription box but, like me, never end up committing to a full years subscription because you’re continually let down by what seems like super random or repetitive product minis.
What do I like so far? The Future Lipstick Mate in Cowboy Nude (£2.50 for subscribers, £20 for non subscribers) is exactly the same in shade, texture and wear to one of my favorites lipsticks, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution, Very Victoria (£23). The Great Skin Foundation is a full coverage satin formula that creates a flawless base that feels non existent on the face. It wears beautifully.
Further to the low cost luxe beauty offerings, Beauty Pie is also giving customers further intel on the products they buy: from when the product was made, how much testing was done plus manufacturing and storage overheads and VAT.
Beauty Pie have launched with a makeup line but will be continuing to add hundreds more products over the coming year, including skincare and beauty tools.
