Coincidence I think not that this addition to the Liz Earle Botanical Essence Eau de Parfum collection is named No.15 (my birth date and lucky number) and just so happens to be my most fav Liz Earle scent ever.
Don’t go dismissing this scent just yet. When I smelt this on a friend she has me guessing what brand it was and I couldn’t believe something so woody and oriental was from Liz Earle. Tom Ford was my first guess! It’s earthy and spicy notes and hit you up front like Tom Ford’s complex and expensive smelling juices.
Botanical Essence No.15 is inspired by the aromas around the world is a fresh oriental – spicy and includes 15 botanical ingredients.
Pink pepper, Cinnamon, Elemi, Bergamot and Clove
Damasc rose, Cedar, Patchouli, Cypriol, Sandalwood and Vetiver
Guaiac wood, Benzoin, Tonka Bean and Bourbon Vanilla
Botanical scents and many of Liz Earle’s scent wardrobe can tend to smell too hippy-ish and country garden for me (see my last review on Botanical Essence No. 100 here). Tame comes to mind? Not No. 15 though.
The initial spicy, sweet and woody gourmand is never cloying and fades to sparkling warm scent that wears well all day and needs not reapplying for evening. In fact, it lasts the longest of all my perfumes.
This scent works well with both brunette and blond skin chemistry. If I could change one thing it would be the clove element that comes on a little intense at first but quickly dies down to perfection.
On paper No.15 sounds little wintry but there is a fresh balminess to it that makes it perfect for summer too.
Next time you hit up the Beauty Hall of your fav department store stop and smell the botanicals, you will not be disappointed!
