SCENT PROFILE: MOSCHINO FRESH COUTURE

The inner kitch in me screamed in delight at this bottle of juice. No, I'm not getting excited about housework this is Moschino's latest perfume drop and the bottle is beyond collector worthy!

AND SO FUNNNN! It’s no surprise that the brand’s cartoon, pop-y Creative Director Jeremy Scott is behind this, his previous runway collections being Macdonalds and Barbie doll themed, this perfume bottle turns everything about perfume on its head!

First Impressions

I adore the bottle and think it very clever and humorous. Installing a haute designer perfume inside such a mundane, everyday, budget household item is megaLOL. The juice itself is a bright neon blue and the bottle is so authentically domestic that it looks a bit wrong sat amongst my more classically bottled perfumes. My only disappointment? You can’t spritz the perfume from the squeezy handle, the top pops off to reveal a regular old press and spray top.

The Scent

First spritz the perfume almost boarders on smelling too fresh, to0 citrus, I’d hate to smell like a freshly bleached toilet, but I think it may be a placebo effect because of the extreme authenticity of the flacon. When I’m out and about you wouldn’t immediately associate the smell with bathroom citrus fresh but something fresh and floral. The scent is lively and pleasant, perfect for everyday wear. 2 hours in and I can really smell the raspberry notes.

For me the most exciting bit is the dry down where I found that it shook off its femininity and became a little masculine. I adore the combination of Ambrox, Woody and Patchouli notes but there’s something that’s disagreeing with me. Maybe it’s the lingering florals?

On paper this looks like my sorta scent but I can’t help but feel it’s a bit too young fun and faddy for me personally. I am however delighted to own a bottle and show most of my guests. Collectors and under 26 years old need to snap this up. The rest of us should maybe pass.
