Needless to say I spent a lot of time in Selfridges last week. What drew me in this time was Laura Mercier’s new on counter makeup service; “The ‘Eye-Con’ Experience”.
The ‘Eye-Con’ experience involves a 30 minute appointment with one of Laura Mercier’s leading international makeup artists who will talk you through the perfect shades, textures and techniques to use to enhance your eye shape. I thought I had my eye technique down, but I was shown how to create a slightly different shape using complementary shadows to open up the face and lift my eyes.
The artist will then choose for you (with your input of course) a custom made Laura Mercier face palette, including 4 Laura Mercier Eye Shadow shades, 1 Cheek Colour and 1 iconic Laura Mercier Cake Liner as well as a Waterproof Mascara and your choice of a brow, eye of kohl pencil!
If you guys don’t already “tightline” then it’s worth going down just to learn this amazing makeup trick for creating more defined eyes in a natural way. To date it’s still one of the best MUA tricks I’ve learnt from a professional.
My Palette is simply gorgeous. I opted for an everyday eye palette with the option to dress up my makeup look with a few sparkly and darker brown hues. My MUA recommended a pretty pink blush called *** and the Cake Liner in a midnight navy colour. I have used it everyday since I got it and have received plenty of enquiries from blue eyed girls asking what the colour are as they enhance my colouring so nicely.
In My Eye-Con Palette
I couldn’t wait to get everything home and starting popping the products out of their little individual cases into their new home.
The service costs £150 and will run at the Laura Mercier counter in Selfridges London for the next few weekends.
