Birthday nights out are a favourite topic of conversation within my friendship group. There’s the initial date and venue planning, guest list, then the outfit discussions in the lead up to the date (this tends to be a rather drawn out process we all massively enjoy). Endless mirror shots flood the whats app group and we weigh in with our opinions. Finally the night arrives and we all feel all kinds of fabulous in our group as we head out, a few gins down and we feel even better. Then there’s the post night out chat, the snapchat stories where we cry with laughter or die of embarrassment.
My friend Emily’s birthday was last weekend and as it’s August we can safely bet it’ll be a balmy evening. I’ve had this ASOS AFRICA print jumpsuit for ages. I fell in love with the print, it feels all tropical and 70’s. The cut is very forgiving and not restrictive at all so I can avoid getting sweaty when I’m twerking for 20 minutes without a break. I had to buy it a size up because they didn’t have my size, but that wasn’t putting me off so I bought it anyway. I’ve waited ages to wear it because the occasion had to be just perfect and rooftop drinks at Emily’s in Brixton before we went out dancing seemed like the night it had been waiting for.
The shoes were such a good steal. I picked these up in the Zara sale (along with a few other bits you can see here) and when I say the are THE comfiest heels I’ve ver worn, I ain’t lyin’. Despite the fairly high heel, these Gold Twisted mules didn’t give me any bother despite stomping around the dance floor for 4 hours.
Makeup here is a bronze eye and nude lip and hair is blown out straight.
