An easy transitional outfit is an excellent fall back option for your wardrobe when you get those in between days summer and autumn days, of which we see A LOT OF in the UK. I was recently inspired by the track pant trend which has managed to absorb itself into smartish everyday dressing for autumn/winter.
I went into New Look the other day, somewhere I don’t tend to head for wardrobe staples, more summer pieces and beachwear. They had a few of their new fall trend lines in and I immediately snatched up a few of the sportswear inspired bits to try on. I don’t usually wear red but recently this bright cherry red colour has been catching my eye. I think the blonder I go the more it suits my complexion! I love oversized crew neck sweaters anyway but the stripe details on the arms makes this jumper feel really Tommy Girl circa 1999. It’ll will work well with my mid-blue denim MOM jeans I recently bought at river island too (linked below). In this look though, I styled it with these relaxed tailored track pants with ivory strip up the side.
I asked my Mum if she liked my look the day I put this on and she said, “Yes, because it looks super comfy”. Okay, she kinda missed the point, but when you are trying out the tailored, sports-luxe trend make sure your face and hair is slightly more polished so you don’t fall into the loungewear / post-work out category. Sliders or white basket trainers are the only shoe pairing I can think of. I’ve seen some people style these with heels but that look is not for me.
Hoop earrings finish the look as well as my cross body pouch bag and I wound a silky banana wound round my wrist (also both from new look).
Are trackpants a trend you might try this fall?
