We haven’t even gotten Halloween out of the way but who cares, I say deck the halls with boughs of holly tra la la la la la la laaaaa, ahem. Christmas has come early to the blog and that is fine with me! I could hardly contain my excitement when Debenhams got in touch and asked if I wanted to be part of their Bloggers Secret Santa game. Um yes, with (sleigh) bells on.
I was assigned a blogger as my giftee and given free rein over the whole Debenhams site to pick something for Lucy’s christmas present. I LOVE giving gifts, for me it is equal to or better than receiving them and the way the person reacts when you get it right gives me an amazing feeling. To see what I gave Lucy head to her blog, Dinosaur Dances.
My name was also passed onto another blogger who was shopping for me. POOR THEM. I am the most difficult person to shop for, ever. My family and friends shudder over occasions passed and fret about looming birthdays and Christmases to come. I don’t even know what I want half the time so how would anyone else?
Alas, my gift arrived yesterday and boy did they hit they nail on the head, but I was not surprised when I discovered my gifter was Emma from the lovely lifestyle blog Bloomzy. Emma was one of the first blogs I ever discovered so it was lovely to be put back in touch this way.
I first unwrapped this rather luxurious candle. Who doesn’t like candles?! But when the candle is a Balenciaga candle, I think this just beat all candles ever invented. The scent of the Balenciaga L’Essence candle is divine. Woody notes with Violet and Vetiver, haute couture candles anyone? It smells like the most desirable man ever made. I’ll be lighting that one on special occasions when the mood is right 😉
Second was the Travel Size Soothing Cleansing Oil from Bobbi Brown. Perfect for taking away on weekends and a great way for me to trial Bobbi brown skincare.
My third and final gift was this framedreading the words “always look on the bright side of life”. How strange that Emma picked this for me when those closest to me know I can be a Negative Nancy about life sometimes and easily forget all the positivity and love surrounding me. I will hang this opposite my bed so it’s the first thing I see when I wake each morning and the last thing I see when I go to bed. A really thoughtful and kitch gift that put a big smile on my face.
Thank you Emma and thank you Debenhams. Through this gifting process I’ve bookmarked a lot of great gift ideas from the website for my friends and family too. There are only 2 or 3 pay cheques left before Christmas so get shopping!
