I am a faux-Swede and I’m enthralled by the Scandi culture, the people, the food, the architecture and of course, the style. I always felt I was born in the wrong country. People say I have a very direct personality and dry sense of humour like the Swedish. I also have blue eyes and bright blonde hair which only adds to my faux-swedishness. Nothing thrills me more when visiting my supposed home-land only to be spoken to in the native tongue.
Style-wise Scandi Chic is my default look. Everyone has a safe inspo- style they like to revert back to like; “Parisian-chic”, “Indie-chick”, “Sporty”. My go to is always a monochrome palette, minimal and slightly abstract and always clean.
I’ve styled two looks from Debenhams latest capsule collection of Scandi-designers online. This is the most excited I’ve ever been about a collection drop at Debenhams. It’s brimming with minimalism, clean shapes and contemporary silhouettes that will work well for every occasion this spring.
The Coveted Mini Wrap Dress
I’m already stocking my wardrobe with wrap dresses. They were big last summer and will reign again in SS18. This Stella Nova – Off white ‘Summer Checks’ V-neck mini dress is perfect for elevating weekend events and date nights. The cool ivory and check design keeps it minimal with the ruffles add a French femininity to the design. I Paired might with trainers for sporty London-girl style.
Modernist Chiffon Blouse in Abstract
This next look is a classic workwear look; the elegant White abstract stripe print ‘Hillborg’ chiffon high neck blouse is paired with the black Six Ames – Black ‘Lila’ wool slim leg trousers. These are hella comfortable with all look really flattering on the leg. The blouse is also very comfortable. How chic are the voluminous sleeves? The blouse can also be made more casual with a pair of jeans and white trainers. The perfect piece to elevate denim.
The Six Ames trousers are also incredible luxe feeling and would elevate a causal t-shirt and sliders look.
I styled this look as work wear and paired the outfit with my Tibi Black Mules and Celine Belt bag. Sunglasses by another scandi fav, Weekday and earrings are by Jane Koenig.
