I honestly thought we’d almost gotten away with not reaalllllyy having a winter then BAM, Feb hits and reminds at although the cold blast might be a little late, he still got the memo.
I shot this outfit with my friend Scarlett last week, when the heavens opened and it rained basically all day. And I’m letting you in on a little secret, it was actually raining so hard when we shot this but the camera weirdly didn’t pick it up!
The colour palette of choice for this look was soft and light hues mixed in with denim. Let’s start with the Cropped Hick Flared Frayed Hem Jeans though. I am slightly (understatement) obsessed with kick flares. At 5’5ft most styles rest just above my ankle and veer scarily towards 90’s school trousers shrunk in the wash territory. I’ll be taking a scissors to a few pairs today actually! I pick up this pair in the Zara sale last month for £7! FYI Always check out Zara end of line denim sales because you can get some amazing bargains! I am now the proud and slightly insane owner of 4 pairs of cropped kick flares with a frayed hem. Would it seem more justified if I said they were all different washes?
With kick flares I wear either a sock boot, a slider or a trainer. When I’m out and about in the city trainers are my best friend, my Nike Ice Grey Huaraches are the most modular, modern looking trainer I own and I really don’t wear them enough. With this colour palette it think they look awesome 🙂
The Oversize Top With Side Split and V Back is a new purchase from my most recent ASOS haul (side not would you guys like to see a shopping haul on my youtube channel? Let me know below). I first fell for this pretty lilac-y periwinkle colour, which I new would suit my colouring and was also drawn to the clean, oversized shape of the top. The frayed edges tie in nicely with the jeans and it has a deep V at the back. If you are thinking of purchasing my advice is go down 1 or 2 sizes as it’s huge!
To add a little texture I grabbed my fluffy grey/lilac Whistles clutch. This furry number always adds another dimension to any outfit and keeps things fun, because despite my bitchy resting face, I really don’t take myself that seriously at all. I have linked similar styles below.
To finish is this off-white H&M studio wool, oversized bomber which keeps things sporty and causal. I was so thankful for this coat this day. So, although the colour palette is pushing into the next season, unfortunately it looks like heavy coats will be hanging around our shoulders for a few more weeks to come.
Roll on spring, right ladies?
