Lingerie; one of my fave style topics, not just for the exquisite, raciness of it but the feeling I get when I put on a set that looks and feels divine. The best type of under armour; lingerie has the power to compel my confidence into the stars.
February is the most popular time of year for investing in new lingerie because of Valentines Day, which doesn’t bode well for many of us as the bikini body diet is still well and truly shelved, til April at least… I certainly don’t look my best in Feb with the remnants of Christmas indulgence still hanging around my waistline and a penchant for heavy comforting dishes still on the brain. But we can push all that to one side because picking out some new lingerie to help boost confidence levels might just be the dose of self-loving medicine we need right now.
Here a few new pieces of lingerie I have been loving wearing right now.
Lingerie I’m Loving
My underwear drawer is full of sets I adore, cost aside. Saying that I’d be lying if I didn’t say that expensive underwear makes me feel fucking fabulous. Knowing that a piece was made by hand, or from the finest silks and lace only enhances feelings of sexiness.
For years now my go to lingerie brand for luxury pieces has been Fleur of England. We have a history too; I once interview for a job at her studio in Bristol as a 19 year old girl. I didn’t get the job but now we work together as a brand and blogger. It’s funny how these things work out 🙂
I’m wearing a balcony bra and thong from the Margaux collection in a striking red colour. It has a sheer cup with rose inspired embroidery.
The fit is always spot on
I’ve tried many many high-end lingerie where the price tags makes me cringe a little but I’ve committed to purchase and been disappointed, out of pocket and UNCOMFORTABLE. My first rule no matter or luxe or not the lingerie is comfort is key because nothing is less sexy than an itchy crotch or wires digging into your under boob.
Things I love from Fleur of England
Lingerie for less
My lingerie drawer is not filled with expensive sets but a healthy mix of high street and high end. I honestly think you can sexy lingerie pieces that are still good quality on this high street but it’s worth opting for shapes that are less constricting like triangle or wireless bras and Brazilian shaped briefs or seamless pieces.
What I’m wearing
This New Look set was sent to me around Valentine’s day and it took my breath away. The colour is the most perfect dusky pink hue. The set is wireless and made entirely of mesh so its pretty comfortable and forgiving at the same time. The pants are also high waist which give it a retro feel.
Now for the best bit – this set is only £12!
I would advise going up a size in this set. I am wearing an 8 however I think the 10 would have sat better on my shape.
