WANG WANG WANG WANG, I’m not being rude, honest! It’s just we are now only 7 days away from the Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration capsule collection dropping into UK stores.
I was so excited when I found out about this collab (even more than good old Isabel Marant) and posted the announcement back in April (you can see it here). The collection has been tantalisingly drip fed to us in the form of off duty models and…Rihanna (weird?). Anyway, I had a sort of ‘MEH’ moment a week ago because everything I was seeing just seemed like gym gear. I’m all for looking chic at my pilates class but I was hoping for some more everyday essentials and the odd party dress.
The preview email literally just landed in my inbox and YAY there are a few pieces in there that I am so so keen to nab. I have listed out below the bit’s I’ll be hunting down.
Ima go straight in here are say it, I will be buying a piece with the WANG logo on front. It will mostly likely be this cute cropped scuba material top, £34.99. I wont, however, be getting this awful slogan vest below.
Of the dresses I think I would opt for the LBD. Although the racer back, grey and neon blue accented dress is hella sportswear chic, it has a whiff of Christopher Kane a few seasons a go about it. The black LBD seems more timeless and I love the subtle Wang logo on the waist area. Cute, sporty, classic all in 1! £49.99.
It’s ALWAYS worth a look at the men’s collection because a lot of the pieces are unisex. For example, the women’s collection doesn’t have this Wang jersey basic, which I love and is a steal at £34.99. Investing in the grey one.
I think this white cut out and perforated top is the most gorgeous item in the whole collection. I am s sucker for cut outs on a garm and I love the mixture of fine knit, reptile skin embossing and mesh. This will look great with skinny black leather trousers and pointy black mules. £79.99, also in black.
I am liking this leather backpack A LOT! Not that I neeed another backpack but this I am justifying as an investment piece. I would hope that at £179.99 the leather is really buttery and soft but I will have to wait until I caress it in store to decide if this bad boy is worth the money.
